《KAIST Future Strategy 2021》 is the 7th result of the National Future Strategy Report published by KAIST Moon Soul Graduate School of Future Strategy/Future Strategy Research Center since 2014. In particular, this version highlights the situation where the respiratory infection caused by the novel coronavirus, aka Corona 19, has put the world into a crisis, and seeks a future strategy to respond. As of November 2020, commercialization of the vaccine is expected to occur sooner or later. However, even if the vaccine is commercialized, there are many challenges to be solved until all people around the world can vaccinate it. Corona 19 has not only brought crises and changes in the health and medical fields. Changing daily life, limiting cross-border movements, and changing the political and economic flows are causing all-round changes. Therefore, 《KAIST Future Strategy 2021》 not before and after the coronavirus, but the future that the coronavirus will continue to change from the perspective of'With Corona'.
The book is largely composed of two parts. Part 1, under the subtitle of ``New Daily Life in the Age of Coronas,'' covers the lessons from the history of infectious diseases, the untact that has become a hot topic in daily life and business, and the truth and inequality of the post-truth era that has become a task in the era of digital transformation. Part 2 is a strategy for the Republic of Korea to overcome crises and turn crises into opportunities in the midst of these changes.Society, Technology, Environment, Population, Politics, and Economy ), and Resources. We divided them into 7 areas, and named them'STEPPER strategy for a new world' after each initial letter.
As before, this report aims to avoid predictions and interpretations centered on minority elite scholars, and to capture a comprehensive perspective through sharing and discussion. Accordingly, it was completed through the joint work of many experts by repeatedly reviewing and revising and supplementing the subject drafts.
