Abstract This study presents an empirical case study on aid effectiveness, focusing on Korea's electronic customs clearance system and its impact on Tanzania's export activities. The study aligns the core principles and specific indicators of the Paris Declaration with the "Korea's Electronic Customs Clearance System in Africa Export Case" to assess Korea's aid effectiveness. Through this evaluation, it was confirmed that Korea's electronic customs clearance system meets the specific indicators of aid effectiveness outlined in the Paris Declaration. Additionally, this empirical study revealed another important finding: while not explicitlyincluded in the Paris Declaration's specific indicators, the "trust (performance)" of the recipient country towards the aid system provided by the donor country is a significant factor in enhancing aid effectiveness. Therefore, this study emphasizes the importance of trust between donor and recipient countries in achieving aid effectiveness. In conclusion, empirical case studies on aid effectiveness play a crucial role in international trade and economic cooperation among nations and can serve as a valuable research methodology applicable to various fields beyond aid effectiveness evaluation.
